Proud Parent’s Leslie and John:
“Eliza is an enthusiatic and energetic student in both karate and school. She started karate shortly after spending a lot of time at South Coast Karate’s booth at Earth Day. She recently earned her second degree white belt and is looking forward to the journey to black belt. She began reading this year and especially enjoys the bedtime ritual of reading and being read to. Eliza is really proud to have completed 15 books this summer for the Goleta Public Library summer reading program. She is a super gregarious person and loves meeting new people.
Eliza is very caring and tries to cheer up friends who are sad. She loves art, singing, playing at the pool, and biking. She also loves developing explanations for things she observes and explaining her theories to others.
In Eliza’s end of year kindergarten evaluation, her teacher, Elizabeth Blair, wrote, “‘Spirited’ describes Eliza perfectly because she is enthusiastic about all that school has to offer, academically, socially, and emotionally. Eliza’s active engagement in Room 19 has been a great addition to our community. Next year, I look forward to her leadership both as an active learner and as a role model for creativity and perseverance.””
