Proud Parents Leonard & Charlotte: “Our daughter Mary is young but filled with a big, wise heart. She genuinely cares for the well-being of others. Mary is capable of sincere empathy for not only people but creatures and the natural world. She is always the first to lend a hand when someone is in need. She offers her chair to a stranger and her food to her sister if she is hungry. She is a naturalist, constantly studying the natural world around her and documenting all creatures that come her way. She rescues everything from tiny ants to larger lizards and has notified local animal shelters about sick seals down at the harbor. Mary’s caring spirit sets her apart Mary also loves karate and trains in it every day, every morning and Monday evenings in class. She hopes to earn her black belt in karate in the future. Doing karate connects her to community and dedication to a craft. She loves the camaraderie in learning and supporting each other.”
