Proud Parents Mark and Leah: “Clara is hard working, caring and diligent. She always tries and does her best at school, at home and in Karate. She is very much her own person, her parents are proud that she loves music and flag football, reading and math and is comfortable hanging out with both the boys and the girls. She is willing to go out of her comfort zone for the sake of others. Clara has volunteered at Valle Verde retirement community (where her father is the chaplain) on many occasions. There, her smile and enthusiasm bring much joy to the residents. She reads scriptures and prayers for the Valle Verde worship service, but more than that, she engages with the residents. She gives hugs and comfort to all, even those in the health center who may not be able to respond very much back. The residents at Valle Verde always enjoy it when Clara comes to visit and talk of her often. Sometimes it is not easy to do all of this, but she isn’t one to just do the the easy thing, but the right, and even more importantly, the loving thing, every time.”
2nd Grade Teacher: Heidi Craine: “Clara is an extremely hard working and responsible student each and every day. She tries her best at everything, and is always willing to go beyond the average to get things done. Using a strong sense of determination and persistence, she is a kind, gentle role model to everyone in our class. It is a treat working and growing with Clara in class, and I so admire the generous and thoughtful way she treats everyone she meets. It is a pleasure knowing her, and a true joy being her teacher this year!”
