Classroom Safety: Kindness

One of the services I have provided to teachers in our community are Classroom Safety Seminars. I am doing one today and this was the request:

“In addition to the anti-bully message, I hope you can talk about how and why to be kind to people who are different than you and those that are not your “friends”.
thanks!”

To which I replied: “Love the challenge and that’s a good one!”
I immediately reached out to my Zen Master Hotline
“Just got this from the teacher who I’m doing a Bully seminar for tomorrow!
Give me your thoughts my Zen Masters!”

My question was Answered!

We are nearing the end of September and school is in full swing. New relationships are forming, some uplifting and maybe some challenging. Here is something to think about:

It’s helpful to see people who may not be your friends as people who have feelings and struggles just like you. They may not be nice to you. Or you may not like the way they act. But everyone wants to be good. We all have good hearts. It is just that sometimes obstacles bigger than us and circumstances out of our control effect us. Sometimes, no matter how hard we try and how desperately we want to be nice, well behaved, or good at some skill we face challenges. Be understanding of those challenges that others face.

Remember that we are all human beings with good hearts and we all deserve to be included. Give people who are different from you a chance because they are the people who are going to teach you the most valuable lessons in life. They are the people who will give you opportunities to grow as a person.

Yes, this Zen master happens to be a student of mine and a teacher, she is Always Learning and Always Giving!
Thank you Emily!

If you know a teacher who may benefit from a School Safety Seminar please forward this to them or let us know how we can reach out to them!
This service is provided FREE to all teachers of our students and yes I continue them for all past teachers!
